 Nathan's ears & sleeping
still waiting
(1 comment)

I'm not completely convinced that this med is helping Nathan's ears.  He isn't screaming and grabbing his ears but that could be because we've given him a few doses of Motrin.  My theory is that the Motrin reduces the inflammation for 2-3 days at a time.  The thing is, I don't feel like Nathan is eating all that well.  He is still just nursing other than the occasional Cheerio and that is fine.  But he isn't gulping/swallowing as much and his diapers aren't as wet.  I was getting all worried that my milk supply had taken a nose dive but now I'm thinking it's more Nathan.  Ugh.  I'm glad we have a follow up appt. to recheck his ears this time.

We've had a few nights where Nathan has woken up before midnight and gotten himself really upset.  On nights like that, I will go nurse him, esp. considering his less than stellar eating.  I am preparing myself to keep nursing him at night past 12 months.  I just get the feeling that he won't be ready for me to night wean him by then.  I would like to see him eating some solids and completely over his ear troubles first.
