 not my favorite Monday

Ugh - today I had a snowstorm in the morning - made it to work 20 minutes late and my students had already walked out. This is the third time I've missed their class in as many weeks! Not good. I only cancelled it the once but the other two times the roads were just terrible. Last time it was the day after the big snowstorm and I thought everything would be cleared but the snow had blown back on to all the roads. Today it snowed most of the day. Anyway - I also managed to forget my office keys so I had to wander around like a nomad trying to find an internet hot spot between classes. The cheap computer the school lent me needs software updates all the time, so I didn't manage to get online. Second class - went fine. Spent another hour trying to find out why my computer wasn't working. In the afternoon was the meeting of the committee that I'm on - the one I was so excited about being involved with because my close friend will be the guest of honor at the festival we're planning next fall. We are paying $45 a day for daycare twice a month so Gatinha can stay all day and I can go to this meeting and DH can drive to his class. Anyway - 40 minutes before the meeting was to begin I got a call from Gatinha's daycare saying she couldn't keep anything down. Quick e-mail to the committee chair and hit the road again. Gatinha's had a cold off and on for a few weeks now and I thought maybe the coughing and mucus was making her throw up. I called the doctor and they couldn't see her today but told me to take her to urgent care (I love our urgent care but the co-pay is $100!) The doctor examined her and said it sounded like the cough was moving to her chest and she was getting bronchitis, and she usually didn't recommend antibiotics for babies but since she'd been sick for so long she thought it was time. Gatinha smiled and flirted with the doctor the whole time and I convinced myself that it was just the cold that was making her vomit. Brought her home and nursed her and she ate well, then immediately threw it up all over me. At least it was just milk. Bath, laundry, making dinner for Flips while trying to keep him far away from everything vomit-related, finally got both kids to bed to do my favorite chore, cleaning out the cat box and taking out the trash.

Dh is home from his class! Hope the rest of the week is better.
