Oh, ho ho... things are going really well around these parts I suppose. It's easy to get on and write when things are hard or when you have things to document, like kids and the like, but I really don't have much to talk about sometimes. I guess I'll write and see where we end up.
As far as work goes, things are moving along swimmingly. We are really increasing reading in our schools, offering student-teacher book clubs and hopefully parent-child book clubs next year. The kids have really gotten into the teacher-student book clubs and it is fun to see them talk about the books and get their opinions. The more they read, the better they do in school, so hopefully this will work out well for everyone! It is fun to talk to kids about the books they like, and I've read a bunch that the kids have recommended and they are awesome!
We decided to go to Belize in March. It's fairly inexpensive and has great recommendations, so we are off for 8 days (or maybe 10 and then also going to Costa Rica, we will see). Either way we are excited. We are backpacking it, which will be interesting. We have decided that financially, we are going to put money into traveling before we have kids (still five years away or so). We are planning two BIG trips a year and then a few small ones (like California isn't a "trip" because my parents live there, but we have to go once or twice a year). So, this spring it is off to Belize, and who knows where we will go next!
So, this past weekend we went out and bought a bunch of clothes for traveling. I had heard the wick-away items are great for tropical locations and so we stocked up. We got a lot at TJ Maxx and Ross, which is awesome because it was cheap! Yay!
Anyway, I guess that's all that is going on. We have gotten really into the show Weeds (we rent it on DVD... we don't have Showtime). It's pretty awesome and we rented some of Season 2 this past weekend and I fell asleep for some of the last few episodes, so I'm going to catch up tonight. I have to drive tomorrow about two hours away for work, and so I need to be IN BED by 9:00. I feel I'll have to take some Benadryl to make this happen! But Weeds is just an all-around awesome show.
