 8w2d-First Ob appointment

Today was my official dating ultrasound and appointment with my health care provider. It went better then I thought it would. There has been some changes sense my last baby 5 years ago. Yeah for progress!

I went to see a Dr. that is not my regular Dr because my Dr was on leave and my NP was also on leave. I cant say that I like him as he is very soft spoken and not very detailed. What I mean is that he knew I was in for a dating ultrasound yet he had an older machine which he stated did not work very well from the last time I saw him.

The good news was we saw a HB and there was huge growth and the HB was there. I did not get to see how many HBPM because he did not check and he did not get a very clear picture to see the Crown to Rump length, because of that he tried to say I was only 7 weeks making me due Sept 20th when I know that is not possible. I did see a yolk sac and baby though.

My husband and baby boy Mr. X were with me for the appointment. I was surprised at how the office had changed their procedures. I will have a GD testing done this week as well as half way through my pg if I want. I was also given a consultation with a Nurse one on one instead of with a group. I really liked this format much better and they have made some changes to the hospital when giving birth. It use to be you would have to share a room post partum unless you paid extra. Well they have changed that to everyone has single occupancy rooms and they have remolded. I am excited about the changes because at this time I am sure we can NOT afford the home birth I desire. With money like it is we just cant afford the additional costs. Either way I am feeling great about this pg and I hope that things continue to go as well as they have been.

Feb 19th will be here soon enough!
