It's getting to be that time to start looking at preschools. I had originally decided to homeschool Hayzel, and while that is still in the plans, for right now we have decided to send him to traditional school. His speech is still very much delayed and both DH and I feel he will benefit from the daily interaction with peers his age for the time being. I found a great little school in the next town over to us that is also a co-op school. I feel this is a happy medium because I will have get to be in the classroom at least 2x a month and will be able to keep a close eye on who Hayzel will be interacting with. My family is against preschool and call it unnecessary for him to go to school so young. Yet they where the same people who where completely against homeschooling too. I try to pay no mind to it. One of the things my mom says is that I will be paying money for a "glorified" daycare(GRRR!). She says that in my situation right now I should be focusing on other things like saving for a house and I should be careful of how many expenses I add to my budget, because the tighter money is the more stressful things get. Honestly, she can't see past the money issue. I think I got a great deal on this preschool. It is wayyyy cheaper than most I've been researching AND I get to be as involved as I want. Also it's SCHOOL (this being the foundation of my son's education)..... I'd take on another job if I needed to in order to be able to afford a good education for children. So right now I'm just waiting to see if we get accepted. We should be informed in about a weeks time. We'll see what happens!
